To celebrate the end of the year in style, Gala is launching its first edition of the Gala Spa Awards, putting the best spas in France in competition.
On the programme: 42 nominees, 7 categories and 9 awards. Selected addresses from all over the country, in the most beautiful hotels and palaces. But also in different environments (sea, mountains, countryside) and above all. Each of the settings is more breathtaking than the last... The verdict? If they have all been chosen for their specificities, their exceptional treatments, their interiors or even their cutting edge approach to fitness, beauty and well-being, these establishments have one thing in common: helping us to let go. And that's worth its weight in gold! Discover in text and images our 2018 list of winners!
Before the spa craze hit, Jocelyne Sibuet was the first to open Pure Altitude spaces in her hotels, with treatments designed for mountain, ski and relaxation enthusiasts.
In the so chic town of Megève. It is a group of nine chalets, built with century-old materials, gleaned by the Sibuets in the two Savoies and the Valais. A magical place named after the daughter of the founding couple, who has now taken over the reins of the various Sibuet houses with her brother Nicolas.
The warm welcome from the VIP and friendly staff is very pleasant. Herbal teas, natural teas, spiced teas... Here, everything is designed to envelop you in softness from the moment you arrive and above all to help you let go and leave in beauty. We loved the relaxation room with its large soft armchairs and its soothing grey tones... A unique atmosphere.
Natural, warm with a mountain spirit evoking ice, birch forests, pebbles rolled by streams and glaciers. Everything is original, in perfect harmony with the environment. Jocelyne Sibuet, a fan of decoration, had the whole thing done by local craftsmen. 17 very relaxing cabins are located next to the indoor swimming pool with its glass windows overlooking the gardens and the mountain. The Jacuzzi and saunas (indoor and outdoor) allow you to commune with nature; the fitness room is designed to warm up your muscles before hitting the slopes.
Pure Altitude, 100% natural products, 100% alpine, based on 200 plants and minerals, developed by Jocelyne Sibuet in collaboration with an eco-responsible laboratory. The treatments are revitalising and rejuvenating. And to pamper your hair, the Leonor Greyl hair care brand.
The Alpine Energy Ritual. A 60-minute massage, alternating stretching, deep modelling and tapping with linen mini-caps filled with Alpine salts and plants. A treatment that releases all tensions, boosts energy and leaves the skin feeling ultra-soft. Ideal to relieve stress on arrival or after a day on the slopes (1h, 160€)
Open all year round, except in April.
