"At Les Fermes de Marie, discreet luxury meets the joys of the mountains! Discover a little winter paradise for warming up (and treating yourself) in the pretty resort of Megève."

Les Fermes de Marie *****, a veritable hotel-institution in Megève, was the first establishment opened by the Sibuet family, virtuosos of the art of French hospitality, in 1989. A jewel box of old wood, Savoyard authenticity and high-altitude pleasures, it offers all the comfort you could wish for in the middle of winter, and 5-star service at the foot of the slopes.
Local natives Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet embarked on the Fermes project in the 1980s. Marie is the name of their daughter, just born at the time, who took over management of the family group a few years ago with her brother Nicolas. In the heart of Megève, a typical Savoyard village made luxurious by the efforts of the Rothschild family, Les Fermes chalets are built from authentic alpine wood, salvaged by Jean-Louis from all over the region. After its opening, the place, where an atmosphere as comforting as it is lush, soon became an institution. Since then, the Sibuet family, at the head of Maisons&Hôtels Sibuet, has opened two other hotels in Megève (Le Mont Blanc and Le Lodge), as well as establishments in Saint-Tropez, Saint-Barthélémy and Ménerbes in the Luberon... At Les Fermes, the soul of this family epic shines through, right down to the smallest detail: a passion for entertaining, a love of the French art of living, the simplicity of good times and a certain gift for aesthetics...
No two of the 67 rooms in the Les Fermes chalets are exactly alike, but all are real nests of comfort. Jocelyne Sibuet, who designed each room herself, was determined to preserve the individuality that makes the place so charming. In each room, you'll find a tasteful mix of antique pieces and fine furniture, comforting textiles and traditional motifs. Savoyard authenticity is emphasized here: old wood has been preserved on the ceilings, glossy tomette on the floors... An Alpine style enhanced by a touch of cocooning luxury (some rooms have a private sauna, a beautiful fireplace, etc.). Entire chalets are also available to rent around Les Fermes, where you can enjoy your independence while benefiting from all the hotel's top-of-the-range services.
The Sibuets were also pioneers in the field of hotel wellness: in the 1980s, Les Fermes was one of the first hotels to integrate an in-house spa into its range of services. Since then, the practice has become widespread in high-end hotels. The spa at Les Fermes is a haven of peace, surrounded by woods, where you can pamper yourself after a day in the mountains: massage, Japanese baths, swim lane or jacuzzi... The SPA uses Pure Altitude products, the brand created by the Sibuets, whose products are inspired by the natural benefits of the mountains (and in particular the anti-aging properties of edelweiss flower). Comfort at Les Fermes also (and above all) comes in the form of food! In the hotel's traditional restaurant, a large, dimly lit dining room offers a generous menu inspired by the region (coquillettes with truffles, beaufort ravioli, poultry cooked whole in butter on the skin, croques montagnard...). And for cheese and dessert, head for the decadent buffet.
This year also saw the inauguration of the new Le Carnotzet cheese restaurant, located in the hotel's cellars. Here, delicious fondues and raclettes are served in an adorable setting, with red and white checkered tablecloths and curtains, and hanging cowbells. Higher up in the resort, in early 2024, the group also invested in a high-altitude restaurant, the Relais des Fermes, decorated with irresistible vintage Megève posters and boasting a large sunny terrace. Here too, gourmet delights abound: juicy meats cooked on the spit, homemade terrine and pâté en croute, marbled snails and macaroni gratin with porcini mushrooms and Beaufort. All in a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for recharging your batteries after a morning's skiing (or relaxing: the restaurant is accessible to pedestrians by gondola from the center of Megève). The Sibuet journey doesn't stop there: in the village of Megève, you can buy restaurant products at the grocery store Les Fermes, treat yourself to Pure Altitude products in the boutique a stone's throw away, and enjoy an exceptional tea time at Le Mont Blanc, the family's other hotel (****) at the foot of the gondola.
